Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with GreeNova Recycling.

ℹ️ General
What does GreeNova Recycling do?
GreeNova is an industrial recycling and trading company based in Cambridge, Ontario. We buy scrap metals and industrial plastics from manufacturers, processors, and demolition firms - then export them to global raw material markets. We take full ownership of materials, so the process is simple for you.
Who can sell materials to GreeNova?
We work with businesses of all sizes including manufacturers, metal fabricators, automotive shops, plastic processors, packaging companies, construction firms, and logistics providers. We generally require a minimum quantity of 500 kg per material type, but contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Where are you located and where do you operate?
We are headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario. We source materials across all Canadian provinces - primarily Ontario, Quebec, BC, and Alberta - and export to buyers in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
How do I get started?
Simply fill out our contact form or email us at [email protected]. Tell us what material you have, the approximate quantity, and your location. We'll respond within 1 business day with questions or an offer.
Is there a minimum quantity?
We generally work best with 500 kg or more per material type. However, we're flexible - especially if you generate scrap on a recurring basis or have multiple material types. Reach out and we'll find a workable solution.
πŸ”© Metal Recycling
What types of metals do you buy?
We buy a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals including:
  • Copper (bare bright, #1, #2, insulated wire)
  • Aluminum (extrusion, cast, sheet, foil)
  • Brass and bronze
  • Stainless steel (304, 316, 430)
  • Cast iron and steel scrap
  • Lead, zinc, and nickel alloys
How is metal scrap priced?
Metal pricing is based on live commodity benchmarks (LME, CME), material grade and purity, quantity, and current market demand. We provide transparent pricing - you'll receive a detailed offer breakdown so you understand exactly how your material is valued.
Do you accept mixed or contaminated metals?
Yes, in many cases. We can handle light contamination and mixed streams, though pricing will reflect the sorting and processing costs involved. Heavily contaminated material (e.g., mixed with hazardous waste) cannot be accepted. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Do you buy electric motors, cables, and wire?
Yes. We buy electric motors, armatures, insulated copper wire, aluminum wire, and power cables. These are priced based on their copper or aluminum recovery yield. Share details (weight, wire gauge, condition) for an accurate offer.
♻️ Polymer Recycling
What types of plastic do you buy?
We buy most major industrial polymer types including:
  • PET and PETE (bottles, bales, flakes)
  • HDPE (drums, pipes, natural and coloured)
  • PP (regrind, raffia, injection scrap)
  • LDPE and LLDPE (film, stretch wrap, bags)
  • PVC (rigid and flexible)
  • ABS, PS, Nylon, Polycarbonate
What condition does the plastic need to be in?
We accept plastics in various forms - regrind, lumps, film, pellets, bales, or whole parts. Material should be dry and not mixed with other polymer types unless discussed beforehand. Some level of contamination is acceptable but must be disclosed.
How is plastic scrap priced?
Polymer pricing depends on resin type, color, form (regrind vs. lumps), purity, and current global demand. Some resins like copper-wound nylon have premium value; others like mixed post-consumer are lower grade. We'll give you a clear per-kg or per-tonne offer after reviewing material details.
Can you arrange pickup of my plastic scrap?
Yes. For confirmed transactions, we arrange logistics including trucking, container stuffing (for large volumes), and documentation. The cost of logistics is factored into the offer. For small loads, we may ask you to palletize or bag materials before pickup.
πŸš› Logistics & Pickup
How quickly can you arrange pickup?
After an offer is confirmed and agreed upon, we typically schedule pickup within 3–7 business days for Ontario-based materials. Timelines for other provinces depend on logistics availability. Urgent pickups can often be accommodated - contact us to discuss.
Do I need to sort or prepare the material before pickup?
Basic sorting by material type is required - for example, copper should not be mixed with aluminum. Plastics should be sorted by resin type if possible. We don't require you to bale or shred materials unless we specifically request it. We'll guide you on preparation requirements when the offer is confirmed.
How is the final weight determined?
Final weights are determined on a certified truck scale or certified scale at the pickup or processing facility. You'll receive a copy of the weight ticket. Payment is calculated based on final verified weight, not the estimated quantity provided at inquiry stage.
πŸ’³ Payment
How and when do you pay for materials?
Payment is made by EFT (electronic bank transfer) within 2–5 business days of material verification and weight confirmation. For large or recurring clients, we can discuss tailored payment schedules.
What if commodity prices change after I accept an offer?
Our offers are valid for a defined period (typically 3–5 business days depending on commodity volatility). Once both parties confirm the offer in writing, the price is locked. If pickup is delayed beyond the agreed window, we may need to revisit pricing. We are always transparent about this process upfront.
